When you are undertaking a process serious to body function, like the lemonade diet, there are bound to be potential risk factors. That is why you need to use common sense and be practical when you get on the lemonade diet regimen. Wisdom of the ages tells us that moderation is beneficial in all things. That sort of moderation should include the lemonade diet.
The fact that the lemonade diet is a fast is not, in itself, really reason for concern. People have been fasting since before the time of Christ, as a means to control their bodies and to gain enlightenment. I’m not saying that the lemonade diet will enlighten you, but there are proponents of the lemonade diet who claim that, along with readjusting your body’s immune response, the lemon diet can result in greater emotional and mental clarity.
To help us understand why the lemonade diet, and fasting in general, works, we need to go back in history a bit. Everyone is familiar with the scientist, Louis Pasteur. Pasteur’s theory about disease was that it came from external sources, namely hostile things like bacteria, viruses, and germs.
At about the same point in time as Pasteur was making his discoveries another scientist, by the name of Bechamp, developed his own theories. Bechamp proved that the environment of the body itself created opportunity for disease.
Fasting, like that done during the lemonade diet, has its roots in curing disease. The new medicine tells us that disease only comes from outside of our bodies, conferring doubt on to processes like the lemonade diet. It is this new medicine that prompts the invention of vaccines to protect us from particular diseases with particular external sources. This is the new medicine of people like Pasteur. Bechamp’s studies verified the old medicine, which confirms processes like the lemonade diet, by verifying that disease comes from inside the body as well. The old medicine teaches that fasts, like the lemonade diet, cleanse the inside of our bodies, thus reducing the risk of disease.
No one is saying that there are not hostile influencing forces, but there are internal forces that need to be dealt with by processes like the lemonade diet, in order to strengthen the body’s ability to defend against the external forces. You defeat the internal forces (toxins and body waste) through fasting processes like the lemonade diet.
The lemonade diet, therefore, is based upon one of the oldest regimens for good health known to man. The fact that the lemonade diet is based on fasting is a positive, rather than a negative quality of the lemonade diet.

That was definitely a valuable post with some very interesting information. I have fasted before, but not for more than a couple of days.
However, as I think on it, when I’ve been sick or feeling off, sometimes I go for days not totally fasting but eating very slightly with emphasis on water intake.

Fasting may do harm to your body when done wrong but this would help you to cleanse your colon. This is better than to deal with sickness with most of your lives since the toxins in your body is the cause of one’s sickness.
